A Global Manufacturer is a company that manufactures components, sub-assemblies, assemblies, and finished products for another company by leveraging raw material, manufacturing capabilities, cost, and an efficient supply chain that spans across the world.
We define Global Manufacturing at manufacturing in lower cost parts of the world to Western Quality Standards. We achieve that success by having ‘boots on the ground.’
Here’s a perfect example of a real-world case study of an East West customer:
Automotive Headlamp Washing System
- 12v Motor sourced in China…shipped to Vietnam
- Washer pump parts injection molded in Vietnam, assembled with motor into finished pump and tested…shipped to the UK (supply chain managed by US company)
- Headlamp washer nozzles, reservoir, and controls produced in the UK and combined with pump into complete system and tested….shipped to Germany
- Headlamp washer system assembled into automobile…. Automobile sold and shipped around the world
Domestic Offshore Manufacturing® combines all of the cost savings expected with traditional offshore manufacturing while maintaining the control, quality and convenience of domestic manufacturing. All aspects of planning, quality, and logistics are controlled by our domestic team of engineering and project management professionals, while our team in Asia qualifies suppliers and keeps a watchful eye on production and quality testing. This dual control ensures that your product is manufactured to your specifications every time without exception.
Or, as our CEO, Scott says, we make the recipe here and bake the cake there!
We are a Manufacturing company founded by Engineers who have been manufacturing globally for over 20 years. We know engineers often have too many projects, need a partner who understands function, quality, how their components interface, and that can make the right part, to the right spec. consistently. We know that Strategic Sourcing is in search of a value adding strategic partner, who can help reduce cost, add diversity to the supply chain, improve quality or help alleviate supplier issues. Partnering with a manufacturer shouldn’t be a risky proposition. Find a like-minded manufacturer who understands what you need.

Generally speaking, good candidates for offshore manufacturing are companies that have a product in the mature stages of its product life cycle, can estimate approximate annual usage, and have volumes high enough to order in container load quantities. If you would like to talk in more detail about your specific manufacturing needs please contact us and we will happy to consult with you further.
Depends up how complete your drawing package, how much DFM works is involved, and how complex the final assembly or product will be. The entire process is dependent on your project and could be anywhere from 6 to 12 months.
DFM stands for Design for Manufacturing (or Design for Manufacturability). Simply it’s the designing (or redesigning) of products that makes them easy to manufacture. At East West, our product engineers will review your product drawings with an eye on reducing cost of material, improving the design, and helping with packaging for shipping efficiency. It’s really a holistic view of your product – the ability to produce your product, meet the standards you request, package it, and deliver it to you at the best possible price.
For us a complete drawing package includes 2d/3d, Solidworks, Solid Models, Dimensional drawings, Material Specifications, Tolerances, Assembly instructions, packaging (bulk or retail) etc… We can help with the packaging.
In additional to a complete drawing package, for quote Printed Circuit Boards (PCB or PCBAs) we will need: Gerber Files, BOM (Bill of Material), at least one sample of your current board, and your current testing procedures.
Yes, we work with several product development companies and are happy to recommend the best fit for your project based on the product type. Our team of professionals offers a full range of design, engineering, sourcing, quality control, documentation and logistics services. Call us at 404.252.9441 or email us at email@example.com to get started with your product development.
The majority of our customers are further down the manufacturing process and have a design, prototype, and have achieved some sales. We work with several outside Design Engineers who understand DFM and what will be needed to put together a complete drawing package (see FAQ above about the complete drawing package). We are happy to make a recommendation if you’d like.
We wish we could but that falls outside of our sweet spot. Prototyping is distinct skill set. Now, producing samples overseas is certainly part of our process to our customers prior to full production launch. Prototyping is typically at an earlier stage of product development.
Your products will be manufactured exactly to your specifications, because before we build them we understand the particular requirements and the entire manufacturing process. We set up production, initialize drawings and documents, install and implement strict quality programs and manage all details of production. You can be confident that your products are produced to your standards because they are under our watchful eyes in our own factories.
Quality is our most important focus. We pride ourselves in our commitment towards total quality management, and when producing your product we control every aspect using our proven quality systems. Our engineers write strict quality procedures catered to each individual product which is then enforced by our domestic and offshore quality control teams ensuring you will receive all the benefits of going offshore without compromising quality.
We made the development of world-class Quality system a company goal. We hired a Global Quality Manager with an extensive Automotive and Aerospace background. We task each division of our team with meeting the same ridiculously high metric standards. Then we track our performance vs. the goals we establish. Then we keep moving the target higher and higher. It’s a never ending process and we aim to provide our customers with the highest quality products.
We understand that this is a very real concern for companies exploring the idea of production offshore. A major advantage of working with East West is that we have part or total ownership in many of the factories producing your products. In the cases where we deal with a non-EW owned factory we maintain significant leverage by making up the majority of that factories production. We have years of experience qualifying factories and keeping our customer’s intellectual property safe. Any confidentiality agreements signed by East West automatically transfer to our China and Vietnam facilities and we only work with factories which demonstrate their willingness to honor and protect our customer’s intellectual property.
In 13 years we have never lost one customer’s IP!
East-West is your end-to-end logistics solution. We handle all freight and duty issues from bill of lading preparation to prepayment of duty and finally delivery to your door. Our logistics team manages your shipment every step of the way so you don’t have to. (And we can provide you a log in account to our customer portal where you can login for real time updates to the status of your products.) Or if you’d rather manage the logistics process yourself, that is an option as well!
Absolutely! Our customers do have the option open for to manage their own freight, but we find that the vast majority of our customers prefer to use East West for their logistics needs. We are able to leverage the high volume of containers (2,000 containers per year) to bring you lower transportation costs.
Our U.S. based customer service team keeps you informed of your order’s status every step of the way. You can also check on your order at any time via our online Customer Portal, which gives you up to date tracking on your shipment as it moves through the production and shipping cycle.
East West offers warehousing and distribution services for those customers who need product on demand and our Demand Planning services help you plan your orders throughout the year so you are never out of product when you need it. Additionally we offer offshore warehousing of finished goods as well as long lead-time components which can further reduce lead-time by 50%.
3D Printing is a wonderful addition to the manufacturing process. The fact that people are 3D printing heart values to save children and to make antique automobile parts that no longer exist is truly amazing. 3D printing is accelerating the prototyping phase and that benefits consumers as manufacturers can get a product to market quicker. Yes, we think the 3D printing is here to stay and so is traditional mass production manufacturing for many processes and materials.
From Fortune 100 organizations to small businesses alike our customers are our best advocates. We highly recommend you talk to others like yourself that have partnered with East West Manufacturing. They can best describe the experience you will have with EW from a customer’s point of view.
We exist to make our customers products for them. Many of whom ask us to keep their engagement with us confidential. Typically for the same reason why many companies do not overtly share their entire supply chain: It’s a competitive advantage.
